Tools of the charming man
This one is for the men and the men in your life so ladies; share, share, share and make the world better for women everywhere!
Recently I was taking care of a good friend who was under-the-weather and her roommate inspired this blog. The evening I arrived he spent with us and he was quite charming. I have to admit I don’t see charming men very often. Mostly I see braggarts who try to dominate a conversation, talk about the sexy women they’ve bedded or put down other women as being not ‘beddable’. It occurred to me, a lot of men could take a page from his book. So here are some hints I can share with you to further you along the road to Charmington!
Firstly he spoke respectfully and with admiration about his female friends and even exes. He focused on the positive aspects of them and didn’t regale us with his assessment of their physical “flaws”.
Secondly, he had good conversation and listened with open mind to new ideas. He didn’t take over or steer the conversation. He just let it flow.
Thirdly; he likes wine! Most women you will find do enjoy wine and like a man to offer wine. He also went out to the store and got us some dark chocolate to go with the wine, so men, there’s a direct line to the hearts of women right there!
Fourth; he complimented my cooking. This is important. A woman doesn’t want to hear, it ‘needs salt’ or any other culinary correction. We cook to please you, so shut up, eat it and say it’s good. He also ate my Vegan meal with no heinous ‘meat’ comments. Two. Big. Helpings!
Fifth; have an emery board/nail file/smoother! If you are touching women, you must care for your hands and nails. We are delicate, we feel pain and hangnails and rough cuticles do not feel good in our delicate…er…’undercarriage’. I really should have put this first as it is SO important. This last I noticed as I got to stay in his room the rest of the weekend as he had some big athletic event the next day.
Which brings me to my Sixth suggestion; be fit! I am not saying you have to be Torre Washington but keep yourself moving. Take a walk, hike, bike ride etc. No one wants a sluggish couch potato and it also keeps your brain feeling nice and happy because exercise boosts serotonin levels. Just like wine and chocolate do!
Being human is more than just eating, sleeping, ‘bumping uglies’ and watching the game. Ask anyone you talk to while in the chat room seeking local singles. There is so much more to life if you put some effort into it. You deserve it and so do all you meet.
